Frequently asked questions
- Does the timer keep running in a background tab?
- Yes. The countdown is worked out from the clock rather than counted tick by tick, so it stays accurate when you switch tabs, and it rings when time is up. Keep the tab open: closing it stops the timer.
- Will the alarm ring if my computer is asleep?
- No. A web page cannot wake a sleeping computer or phone; if the device slept through the time, the alarm rings as soon as the page runs again. Leave the device on with the page open, and turn the volume up before you rely on it.
- Can I show it full screen?
- Yes. The timers and the clock have a full-screen button for a classroom, a meeting or a workout, with large digits that can be read from across the room.
- Is anything sent anywhere?
- No. The timers and clocks run in your browser; at most your settings are kept in this browser for next time.
