Example

Example: a 10-minute reading slot in class, plus one minute

The page opens at 10:00. Choose Classroom timer (red dial) and Full screen for the projector, and keep the Bell sound.

  1. Start: the red sector covers 60° of the dial — 10 of its 60 minutes.
  2. After 3 minutes 20 seconds the display shows 06:40.
  3. Press +1 min while it runs: 07:40, and the end moves a minute later.
  4. At 00:00 the bell rings for about five seconds; a click or a key stops it sooner.
You type Timer set to
10 10:00
7.5 7:30
1:30 1:30
90s 1:30
2m 30s 2:30
1h 1:00:00

A slot that runs over is handled with one press of +1 min, and any other length is typed in the time box the same way.

How it works

  1. Press Start (or the space bar): the timer counts down from 10:00.
  2. Add a minute with +1 min, or pause and resume as you need.
  3. When it reaches zero it rings for about five seconds (a click or a key stops it sooner).

Frequently asked questions

What can I time with a 10-minute timer?
A reading slot, a group activity in class, a stand-up meeting or a power nap.
Does it keep time in another tab?
Yes. The time is worked out from the clock, not by counting ticks, so it stays right in a background tab or after the laptop sleeps, and the sound is scheduled ahead so it rings on time.
Can I show it on a projector?
Press Full screen (or F): the digits fill the screen, big enough for a classroom or a meeting room. Press Esc to leave.
Can I change the time?
Yes — type another time in the box (1:30, 20, 90s) or tap one of the quick times.
How do I set a timer for 10 minutes and 30 seconds?
Type 10:30 (or 10m 30s) in the time box and press Start. A plain number is minutes: 7.5 is 7 minutes 30 seconds.
Which sound does it make?
Choose Bell, Beep or Alarm, or No sound for a silent timer. It rings for about five seconds, and a click or a key stops it sooner; +1 min then starts one more minute at once.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The timer runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
