Touch screen test
Paint every cell — the ones that don’t respond show up red.
Touch or drag your finger across every cell of the grid. The page goes full screen and each cell you touch turns green.

Put several fingers here at the same time.

No touch screen? The test works with a mouse too: hold the button down and drag (one point at a time).
Nothing leaves your device
This tool runs entirely in your browser. What you type, play or record here stays on your device: nothing is uploaded or saved on a server.
How it works
- Press Start: the page goes full screen and covers it with a grid.
- Drag your finger over every cell until all turn green; press Done (or Esc) when you have gone over the whole screen.
- Read the result — untouched cells are red — then try the multi-touch panel with several fingers at once.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I know if my touch screen has a dead zone?
- If the same strip or patch stays red after you have slowly gone over it twice, that part of the screen is not registering touches — a hardware fault, often after a drop or water. Scattered misses are usually just skipped cells.
- Why are the edges hard to fill?
- Rounded corners, a case, and the system’s own gesture areas (swipe-to-go-home bars) can stop touches reaching the page. The result says when only edge cells were missed.
- How many fingers does my screen support?
- The multi-touch panel shows a numbered circle under each finger and the most it saw at once, next to the number the browser reports. Most phones follow 5–10 fingers.
- Does it work on a computer?
- Yes — on a touch-screen laptop or monitor, and with a mouse or pen too (one point at a time). On some phones the browser’s own bars stay on screen because full screen isn’t available.
- Is anything sent anywhere?
- No. The test runs in your browser.
