How it works

- Take turns placing X and O; the first to get three in a row — across, down or diagonally — wins.

Frequently asked questions
- Can the computer be beaten?
- On easy and medium, yes. On unbeatable it plays perfectly: the best you can get is a draw, which is what perfect play from both sides always gives.
- What is the best first move?
- The centre or a corner. Against a corner opening, the only safe reply is the centre; after that, block every two-in-a-row and look for a fork — two lines threatened at once.
- Can two people play?
- Yes — choose “A friend”, and take turns on the same screen, X and O.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes — tap the squares. On a computer you can also play with the number keys.
- Is anything sent anywhere?
- No. The game runs in your browser and the score stays on this device.
