Keyboard: Tab or the arrow keys choose a pile (free cells and foundations above the columns), Enter or Space picks up and puts down (twice on the same pile sends the cards to the best place), Esc cancels, U undoes.

Cards that are no longer needed on the table go to the foundations on their own. Game numbers 1–32000 deal the same layouts as other free cell programs. Your games played, wins and best times are kept in this browser only.

How it works

  1. Press New game, or type a game number from 1 to 32000.
  2. Build the columns down in alternating colours; park single cards in the four free cells.
  3. Move all cards to the foundations by suit from Ace to King to win.

Frequently asked questions

What are the rules of free cell solitaire?
All 52 cards are dealt face up into eight columns. Build columns down in alternating colours, use the four free cells to hold one card each, and move cards to the foundations by suit from Ace to King. Any card can go into an empty column.
Can every deal be won?
Almost: of the 32,000 classic numbered deals, only one is known to be unsolvable. If you’re stuck, undo and try another order.
How many cards can I move at once?
As many as your free cells and empty columns allow: with 4 free cells and no empty column, 5 cards; each empty column doubles that. The page shows the current limit.
What do the game numbers mean?
Deals are numbered 1 to 32000 with the same classic layouts other free cell programs use, so you can compare a game with friends.
Is anything sent anywhere?
No. The game runs in your browser and your statistics stay on this device.
