Frequently asked questions
- How is a discount calculated?
- Multiply the price by the percentage and take it off: 25% of 80 is 20, so you pay 60 and save 20.
- What about two discounts, like 20% and then 10% more?
- They don’t add up to 30%: the second is taken from what the first left. Type both on one line, 20% + 10% off 100 → 72 (you save 28), or one per line to see each step: 20% off 100 → 80, then 10% off 80 → 72. Together that is 28% off.
- How do I find the percentage from two prices?
- Put an arrow between them: 80 → 60 gives a change of −25%.
- Are cents kept?
- Yes — a price with cents gives the sale price and the saving with two decimals: 30% off 59.99 → 41.99, you save 18.00.
- Is anything saved?
- No. It is worked out in your browser.
