Example
Example: “Emma Rose” in cursive for a bio
Type Emma Rose: the page opens on the Script style. Choose Bold script for heavier strokes, and a frame if you like.
| Style | Result |
|---|---|
| Script | ℰ𝓂𝓂𝒶 ℛℴ𝓈ℯ |
| Bold script | 𝓔𝓶𝓶𝓪 𝓡𝓸𝓼𝓮 |
| Script with the sparkles frame | ✧・゚: *✧ ℰ𝓂𝓂𝒶 ℛℴ𝓈ℯ ✧*:・゚✧ |
In plain script, four of these letters (ℰ, ℛ, ℴ, ℯ) come from an older Unicode block, so in some fonts they look slightly different from the rest. Bold script has all its letters in one block, so they always match.
How it works
- Type or paste your text.
- It comes out in script letters; choose bold script for heavier strokes, or any other style.
- Copy the result and paste it into your bio, name or message.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this a real cursive font?
- No — it is made of Unicode’s mathematical script letters, characters that look like handwriting. Because they are characters, not a font, they stay cursive wherever you paste them.
- Why are some letters a little different?
- Eleven script letters (ℬ, ℰ, ℱ, ℋ, ℐ, ℒ, ℳ, ℛ, ℯ, ℊ, ℴ) were encoded earlier in another block, so they come from a slightly different design in some fonts.
- Does it work with accents, Japanese or Korean?
- Script letters exist only for A–Z, so digits stay as typed (bold and double-struck have their own: 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔). An accented letter keeps its accent on top (𝐞́), and other scripts stay as typed; frames, strikethrough and underlining work with any text.
- Is fancy text accessible?
- Not very: a screen reader spells these characters out or skips them, and search does not find them. Keep it for a name or a headline, not for whole messages.
- How do I type in cursive on Instagram?
- You can’t pick a font there, but you can paste these characters: type your text here, copy the script line and paste it into your bio, name or caption. It stays cursive because the letters themselves are script characters.
- Is there a bold cursive?
- Yes — Bold script: 𝓔𝓶𝓶𝓪 𝓡𝓸𝓼𝓮. Its letters all come from one Unicode block, so none of them looks different from the others.
- Is anything uploaded?
- No. It is worked out in your browser, and nothing you type leaves your computer.
