How it works
- Choose women’s or men’s clothing; for men, a suit or jacket (chest size) or a dress shirt (collar).
- Pick the size system you know and your size.
- Read the size in every other system and the letter size.
Frequently asked questions
- How do women’s dress sizes compare?
- A US 8 is about UK 12, German 38, French 40, Italian 44, Japanese 13号 and Korean 66 — a medium. Each step up the US scale is 2 sizes.
- How do men’s suit sizes work?
- US and UK sizes are the chest in inches; European sizes are twice that in cm, roughly inches + 10: a 40-inch jacket is a European 50, a Japanese L, a medium.
- And shirt collars?
- Collars are the neck size: 15½ inches is 39 cm, 16 inches 41 cm. Measure round the base of your neck and add a finger’s width.
- Why does the size differ between shops?
- Clothing sizes are not standardised across brands or even collections, so use the result as a guide and check the measurements chart of the garment.
- Is anything saved?
- No. It is worked out in your browser.
