Take off matching pairs of free tiles until the table is empty. A tile is free when nothing lies on it and its left or right side is open. Any flower matches any flower and any season any season. Every deal can be won; a shuffle re-deals the tiles left so the game can still be won, but adds 30 seconds to your time. Your stats stay in this browser.

- How do you play mahjong solitaire?
- It’s a one-player matching game with mahjong tiles stacked in a layout. Remove pairs of identical free tiles — any flower with any flower, any season with any season — until the table is clear.
- Can every game be won?
- Yes — every deal here is built so that it can be cleared. You can still get stuck by taking the wrong pairs; then undo or shuffle the tiles left.
- What do the tiles mean?
- Three suits — dots, bamboo and characters, 1 to 9 — plus the four winds, three dragons, four flowers and four seasons; four of each ordinary tile.
- Any tips?
- Free tiles that block many others first, and when three of a kind are free, think about which pair to take so the fourth isn’t trapped under the others.
- Is anything sent anywhere?
