Frequently asked questions
- How much leave does Korean law give?
- A day for each full month in the first year, at most 11; then 15 days a year, one more for every two years after the first, at most 25 (Labour Standards Act, art. 60).
- What is the calendar-year basis?
- Everyone receives leave on 1 January, the first time pro rata to the days worked in the hiring year; on leaving, any shortfall against the hiring-date count is paid.
- Is this professional advice?
- No, it is a calculator. Contracts, collective agreements and individual circumstances can change the figures.
- Is what I type sent anywhere?
- No. The sums are worked out in your browser and nothing you type is sent or stored.
