Example

Example: a hotel night receptionist, 23h to 5h, 20 nights in March 2026

A night receptionist at a hotel in São Paulo earns R$ 2,400.00 a month on a 36-hour week and works six-hour nights from 23h to 5h. In March 2026 she worked 20 nights. Settings: Monthly hours 180; Work: Urban; Schedule: Enter the hours; Month: any day in March 2026.

  1. Clock hours in the night window: 120 (20 × 6), all between 22h and 5h. Hours after 5h stay empty, as her shift ends at 5h.
  2. An urban night hour is 52 minutes 30 seconds, so the page counts 137,14 h = 120 × 60 ÷ 52,5.
  3. Hourly value: R$ 13,33 = R$ 2.400,00 ÷ 180. Premium at 20 %: R$ 365,71 = 137,14 h × R$ 13,33 × 0,2.
  4. Reflex on the DSR: R$ 70,33 = R$ 365,71 ÷ 26 × 5, since March 2026 has 26 working days (Monday to Saturday) and 5 Sundays, with no national holiday.
Same 120 clock hours Hourly value Premium DSR Total
March 2026, 180 hours R$ 13,33R$ 365,71R$ 70,33R$ 436,04
April 2026, 180 hours (24 working days, 6 rest days) R$ 13,33R$ 365,71R$ 91,43R$ 457,14
March 2026 on a 220-hour contract R$ 10,91R$ 299,22R$ 57,54R$ 356,76
March 2026, rural livestock work, 20h–4h, 25 % R$ 13,33R$ 400,00R$ 76,92R$ 476,92

The page shows Night premium with the DSR: R$ 436,04 for March. The same nights in April give the same premium, but Good Friday and Tiradentes add two rest days, so the DSR rises to R$ 91,43 and the total to R$ 457,14.

Frequently asked questions

What is the reduced night hour?
In urban work a night hour is 52 minutes 30 seconds: 7 clock hours count as 8.
Is this an official figure?
It applies the CLT rules and the 2026 tables; a collective agreement or the payroll may differ.
Do I enter clock hours or night hours?
Clock hours, as worked: 20 nights from 23h to 5h are 120 hours. The page turns them into night hours itself — × 60 ÷ 52,5 gives 137,14 h for urban work. Rural work has no shorter hour, so 120 clock hours stay 120.
Which month should I choose?
The month the nights were worked. The DSR is the premium ÷ that month’s working days (Monday to Saturday) × its Sundays and national holidays: March 2026 has 26 and 5, April 2026 has 24 and 6. State and town holidays are not counted.
Is anything I enter sent anywhere?
No. It is worked out in your browser.
