How it works

Frequently asked questions
- How are decimals read?
- Digit by digit after “point”, the way English says them: 3.14 is three point one four. As money, the cents are counted instead: 12.50 dollars is twelve dollars and fifty cents.
- Why is there no “and” after the hundreds?
- American usage writes one hundred twenty-five; British usage writes one hundred and twenty-five. Numbers follow the American way; choose pound sterling and the amount is written the British way, with the “and”.
- How large a number can it write?
- Up to 999,999,999,999 — nine hundred ninety-nine billion and so on. A range can list up to 1,000 numbers.
- Can it write in other languages?

- Is anything uploaded?
- No. It is worked out in your browser, and nothing you type leaves your computer.
