How it works
- Paste the ingredient list, one ingredient a line.
- Choose the pan shapes and type the sizes: a diameter for a round pan (9), length × width for a rectangular one (9 x 13).
- Every amount is multiplied by the ratio of the pans’ areas, so the batter is as deep as the recipe meant.
Frequently asked questions
- How is the pan size converted?
- By area: a round pan’s is π × radius², a rectangular one’s length × width. From a 9-inch round (63.6 sq in) to an 8-inch (50.3 sq in) is × 0.79.
- What about the baking time?
- With the batter as deep as before, it stays about the same. A deeper batter needs longer and a shallower one less, so test with a skewer a little early.
- Can I use a square or rectangular pan instead of a round one?
- Yes: choose round → rectangular and type the rectangle as length x width. A square is the same length both ways (8 x 8).
- Does it work in centimetres?
- Yes: choose centimetres, or type cm after the size (26 cm).
- Is anything uploaded?
- No. It is worked out in your browser, and nothing you type leaves your computer.
